Introduction▴Top

It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Current Translational Medicine, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the science and practice of translational medicine.

The launch of Current Translational Medicine reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between fundamental research and patient care. Despite remarkable progress in biomedical science, many discoveries remain confined to the laboratory, unable to reach clinical practice due to scientific, regulatory, and logistical barriers. Addressing these challenges requires a platform that not only disseminates knowledge but also actively promotes the translation of research into real-world medical solutions.

Our Vision and Mission▴Top

The vision of Current Translational Medicine is to serve as a leading international platform for translational research that improves human health by accelerating the movement of discoveries from bench to bedside. Our mission is to publish high-quality, impactful research that integrates basic science, clinical investigation, and healthcare implementation.

We are committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting research that demonstrates clear clinical relevance. By supporting studies that connect mechanistic insights with patient outcomes, Current Translational Medicine aims to contribute to the development of innovative diagnostics, therapeutics, and preventive strategies.

Our mission extends beyond publication. We aim to cultivate a scientific environment that values rigor, transparency, and collaboration, ensuring that the research we publish not only advances knowledge but also informs clinical practice and health policy.

The Scope of Translational Medicine▴Top

Translational medicine is inherently multidisciplinary, encompassing a broad spectrum of research activities that span from molecular discovery to population health. Current Translational Medicine embraces this breadth and welcomes submissions that reflect the diverse nature of the field.

The journal encourages contributions in areas including molecular and cellular mechanisms of disease with translational potential, preclinical studies using animal models, early-phase clinical trials, and biomarker discovery and validation. We also welcome research in precision and personalized medicine, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other multi-omics approaches that contribute to clinical translation.

In addition, Current Translational Medicine recognizes the growing importance of technological innovation in medicine. Submissions related to drug development, medical devices, bioengineering, digital health, and artificial intelligence are highly encouraged, particularly when they demonstrate clear pathways to clinical application.

Beyond discovery and development, the journal also values research that addresses the implementation of medical advances. Studies in translational epidemiology, health services research, and implementation science play a critical role in ensuring that innovations are effectively integrated into healthcare systems.

Types of Contributions▴Top

Current Translational Medicine publishes a wide range of article types to reflect the complexity and diversity of translational research. These include original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical trial reports, and methodological studies.

We also welcome translational perspectives and commentaries that provide insight into emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the field. High-quality case-based studies that offer meaningful lessons in translational processes are also considered.

Importantly, we encourage submissions that address the barriers to translation, including issues related to reproducibility, regulatory pathways, data integration, and ethical considerations. By providing a platform for both scientific advancement and critical reflection, Current Translational Medicine aims to contribute to the continuous improvement of translational medicine.

Our Editorial Perspective▴Top

At Current Translational Medicine, we recognize that impactful research often arises at the intersection of disciplines. Translational medicine requires collaboration among scientists, clinicians, engineers, and public health professionals, and our journal is designed to facilitate such interdisciplinary exchange.

Our editorial approach emphasizes scientific rigor, methodological soundness, and clinical relevance. We are particularly interested in studies that demonstrate a clear trajectory from discovery to application, as well as those that address unmet medical needs.

We also place strong emphasis on innovation. Research that introduces new concepts, technologies, or approaches to translational challenges is highly valued, especially when supported by robust evidence.

Commitment to Quality and Ethics▴Top

The integrity of the scientific record is central to our mission. Current Translational Medicine adheres to internationally recognized ethical standards, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

We are committed to a transparent, fair, and rigorous peer-review process. Manuscripts are evaluated based on their scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the field. Our editorial policies emphasize reproducibility, data transparency, and responsible reporting.

Authors are encouraged to adhere to established reporting guidelines and to provide sufficient methodological detail to enable replication. Where appropriate, data sharing is strongly encouraged to support the advancement of open science.

Open Access and Knowledge Dissemination▴Top

As an open-access journal, Current Translational Medicine ensures that all published content is freely accessible to readers worldwide. This model promotes the equitable dissemination of knowledge and enhances the visibility and impact of research.

We believe that open access is essential for advancing science and improving healthcare outcomes, as it enables researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to access and apply knowledge without barriers.

Global Perspective and Inclusivity▴Top

Healthcare challenges are global in nature, and solutions must be adaptable to diverse populations and settings. Current Translational Medicine is committed to promoting research that reflects this global perspective.

We welcome submissions from researchers around the world and encourage studies that address health disparities, resource limitations, and regional differences in healthcare delivery. By highlighting diverse perspectives, the journal aims to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable approach to medical innovation.

Invitation to the Scientific Community▴Top

The success of Current Translational Medicine depends on the active participation of the global scientific and medical communities. We warmly invite researchers, clinicians, and innovators to submit their work to the journal and to engage with the content we publish.

For authors, Current Translational Medicine offers a professional and efficient publication experience, with a commitment to timely and constructive peer review. For readers, the journal provides access to high-quality research that informs clinical practice and future investigation.

We also invite experts to join us as reviewers and editorial board members, contributing their expertise to the advancement of translational medicine.

Looking Forward▴Top

The launch of Current Translational Medicine represents an important step toward advancing the field of translational research. As biomedical science continues to evolve, the need for effective translation of research into clinical practice will only grow.

We are committed to ensuring that Current Translational Medicine remains a dynamic and responsive platform, adapting to new developments and addressing emerging challenges. Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence, we believe that the journal can make a meaningful contribution to improving human health.
